misunderstanding

When I look back upon my life, it's always with a sense of shame.
I've always been the one to blame.

I've always been the one to blame.
That means "I was always blaming on somebody".
Is it right?

I have been thinking about it like this.
"I have always been the one to be blamed on."

I have misunderstood it for so long.

It's a sin.

Father, forgive me.
I tried not to do it.

"You are to blame " mean "You have the responsibility".
So if "I've always been the one to blame", "I have the responsibility".

Somebody always blames on you.
